| Just as storms began to drench the area with rain, at 16:12 hours on Wednesday, January 30th. Co 15(New Market) and RS24 (Walkersville Rescue Co.) were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on Eaglehaed Drive near the Lake Linganore Dam. While en-route units were advised that there was one vehicle rolled over with a subject pinned underneath. A158 arrived first to find a vehicle on its roof with one pinned underneath and possible working trauma code. Chief 15 arrived and established the Eaglehead Drive command. E152 arrived and placed I 1"3/4 hose line in service and began to assess the situation and formulate a plan to extricate the patient. RS24 arrived on scene and due to a possible working trauma code RS24's crew placed an Amkus spreader with deer antler tips into place under the A-Post and lifted the vehicle and used cribbing to stabilize as we raised the vehicle. A high lift jack and airbags was also used to help lift and stabilize the vehicle. The patient was extricated in a few minutes and the patient was found to be conscious and breathing. The patient was then treated by A158 and M17. Command was advised that aviation was down due to the weather and A158 transported the patient to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD. Command was terminated and units were in service at 16:50 hours. |
