RS24 Does Standby at Co.10 and Runs MVA with Entrapment

On Thursday July 9th, Co.24 with RS24 were doing a standby at Co.10 while they were enjoying the evening with their carnival and parade. At 22:01hrs. RS24 was alerted with Co.22 for a vehicle accident on Rt.15NB and Rt.806. BC902 went on scene and told Frederick ECC that it will be Rt.15NB at the Rt.806 crossover by the Zoo and also that he had one vehicle still in the roadway with heavy damage with one patient still trapped in the vehicle and established command. A229 arrived on scene and started patient care. RS24 arrived on scene and went to work stabilizing the vehicle and began extrication. A307 arrived on scene and assisted with patient care. E221 arrived on scene and shutdown Rt.15NB. Command requested aviation. E102 was then dispatched to establish a landing zone. E102 arrived on scene and shutdown south bound Rt. 15 and personnel helped with extrication. Patient was extricated in 25 minutes and turned over to A229 and Flight Medic from Trooper3. At 23:11 hrs. Command was terminated and units went in service.
