Ambulance 249 carries a wide variety of supplies for patient care and transportation.
Ambulance 249 also carries some forcible entry tools, a fire extinguisher, Personal Flotation Devices for water rescues, and two sets of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for use in fire operations.
Whenever any ambulance from Co. 24 responds to a call, there are at least two personnel onboard.
One is the driver, who is responsible for safely driving the ambulance, and assisting in patient care.
The second person is the Aid 1, or the lead Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who is responsible for the call and provides basic life support (BLS) care for the patient and calls for additional help if the patient requires special intervention, such as Advanced Life Support.
